Through village churches in India, one dollar has the power to change a child’s life forever! That one dollar is all that is required to take a child off the street, feed, clothe and educate him or her and ultimately unlock the gospel in that child’s heart.

India for Christ Ministries (IFCM)

We know, you may be a bit skeptical. So were we. Let me explain. Our new ministry partner, India for Christ Ministries (IFCM), started out as a house church of 17 converts. Today Pastor Paul has transformed those humble beginnings into a growing network of 230 village churches connected all across India. This ministry has blossomed into one of the most dynamic, holistic, and gospel-centered ministries we’ve ever seen.

And consistent with WorldServe’s commitment to resource the indigenous church in restricted areas of the globe, we have partnered with Pastor Paul to help accelerate and expand their Kingdom impact. Through primarily indigenous support, IFCM already has trained missionaries reaching out into communities sharing the love of Jesus Christ – and they’ve planted village churches that serve as strategic bases for their ministry work.

First let us give you a bit of perspective on India, the newest country to be included in WorldServe’s focus. India is a nation with 600,000 villages of 2,500 to 4,000 people each. Though India’s economy is growing, the villages have actually suffered more poverty as the cost of living has increased for the poorest of the poor. Millions of fathers, despairing of their inability to provide for their family, are leaving these villages to seek work in the cities. They seldom return home. Alone, the uneducated, unskilled mothers now face an even more hopeless scenario.

Unwilling to watch their children starve, they tearfully send them to the streets to find food wherever they can. They beg, they steal, and they sell themselves.

For a dollar a day, Pastor Paul’s churches gather together these street children, clothe them in the required school uniform and take them to the village school. Then, after school, the children are gathered again for tutoring. The education, in itself, would change these children’s lives. But Paul’s ministry isn’t finished! After a good solid meal they disciple the children in the sweet truths of the gospel and show them the love of Christ. Afterwards, the churches’ missionaries work with families in the villages to find a safe place for the children to sleep. It’s hard to believe but yes, all this for a dollar a day per child!

But it is even more amazing when you consider the transforming impact your dollar has on a village as a whole!

First, the children themselves are blessed. They are fed. They are educated. They are evangelized and discipled. They are adored with the love of Christ. The impact on the children is profound, and their faces show their joy. That kind of joy is a powerful witness to others!

Second, the villages themselves are transformed. Neighbors sense hope where they have never before hoped, love where there has only been despair. They see the good news lived out; it’s something they’ve never heard before. People respond to the gospel, churches are born, and villagers begin to seek them out.

We are thrilled to bring gospel hope to formerly hopeless people. Our goal is to help this growing network of village churches care for as many children and villages as they can with the children’s project. Each child requires just a dollar a day. Each village (about 50 children) costs $50 a day. An entire village can be transformed for $1500 a month.

Please prayerfully consider joining us and giving as generous of a gift as you can to feed, clothe, teach, mentor, evangelize and disciple a child in India for a dollar a day.

It’s hard to imagine that you can actually change the life of a hopeless child for so little, but it’s true! Your gift will impact an impoverished village with the love of Jesus and will set the stage for the spread of future churches across India as these children take His message to heart.
